Testimonials

Why did you decide to take a VIE placement at TotalEnergies?

I’d always wanted to work in Africa. This placement gave me that opportunity, just when I was completing my finance internship at TotalEnergies, during Covid, when French businesses had stopped hiring. I knew I wanted to stay at TotalEnergies; I’d loved my internship. In the Congo, I really wanted to experience the oil industry, all that adventure.

Nicolas, oil economist

Are you happy with your decision?

Absolutely. I am very independent in my role. I’m seen as an employee like everyone else. I can access training modules to acquire new skills. I learn so much every day, culturally, personally and professionally. Everything I wanted from this assignment!

Baptiste, operations and project engineer

How is your VIE assignment going?

I’m involved in developing gas projects and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Professionally, I’m learning so much! I’ve got a lot of responsibility. I work on a range of different subjects at the same time, alongside people from different countries and cultures. It’s like a big family, and my team is great!
